If you visit our website or social media channels, you’ll see the work we do in healthcare, manufacturing, education, tourism and non-profits. And then you’ll see we produce music videos; and quite a few for Angela Perley & The Howlin’ Moons. Similar to the purpose of the videos we make for companies and organizations—telling a story, launching a product or marketing a service—music videos are short films integrating lyrics with visuals for promotional purposes. And, needless to say, music videos are fun! Right?
The Columbus, Ohio based band released their sophomore album Homemade Vision earlier this year with Vital producing the official music videos for “Electric Flame” and “Your Love” and now, the "White Doves” video released October 21st. This is not the beginning though. We’ve produced four EPs, two full length releases on the Vital Music USA label and seven music videos. It’s been a relationship that has evolved into a true partnership over the years. So how did Vital partner up with Angela Perley & The Howlin’ Moons?
Ohio University student Mary Kish was interning at Vital in 2008 when she mentioned her talented roommate Angela to Fred Blitzer, Vital’s founder and CEO. Knowing Fred had background in the music industry and a passion for music, Mary thought he might be able to give advice and help her friend. At the time, Angela was graduating from OU with a teaching degree and heading back to Columbus and hometown of Hilliard. She had a job substitute teaching in the Dublin and Worthington school districts.
After hearing her homemade demo, Fred contacted Angela to meet and work on songs in the studio with musicians Chris Connor and Billy Zehnal, who he felt would complement her unique sound. They instantly clicked and not to be cliché, but the rest is history.
